5.4. Washing of the cooling system

GENERAL INFORMATION

If replacement of cooling liquid was made irregularly or in cooling liquid the antifreeze radio set decreased концент, then overall performance of the cooling system will be reduce on because passability of channels and hoses of the cooling system will decrease because of education on their walls of a raid of a rust, a deposit or other rainfall. In this case the cooling system needs to be washed out.

The radiator needs to be washed out irrespective of the engine.

For washing of a radiator merge cooling liquid from the cooling system, then disconnect hoses from the basis and the top tank of a radiator. Insert a garden hose into the top branch pipe of a radiator and pass water through a radiator until water comes out pure of a branch pipe in the radiator basis. If the radiator is strongly polluted, wash out it with use of special cleaner. Also the radiator can be washed out in the opposite direction, inserting a garden hose into the lower branch pipe of a radiator.

Carry out washing of the engine as follows.

L models 1,4 and 1,6 except C16 NZ2

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the thermostat, then temporarily establish a thermostat cover.
2. Disconnect the top and lower hoses from a radiator, then insert a garden hose into the lower hose of a radiator and pass water via the engine until water does not come out pure of the top hose of a radiator.
3. After washing of the engine install into place the thermostat and connect hoses to a radiator.

L C16 NZ2 models 1,8 and 2,0

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the thermostat assembled and covers.
2. Disconnect the lower hose from a radiator, then insert into it a garden hose and pass water via the engine until water does not come out pure of a thermostat casing. In order that the following water was not sprayed on the engine and elements of a motor compartment, install the plastic screen under a thermostat casing.
3. After washing of the engine install the thermostat assembled and covers, then connect the lower hose of a radiator and remove the plastic screen.
